Returning South

It’s amazing how quickly our first seven months flew by. Before we knew it, we’re back in Murrells Inlet, SC. Only being there for ten days, we had a lot to accomplish. Servicing our rig and an oil change on the Jeep. An early Thanksgiving get together along with several friends and family events. In addition, we needed to exchange summer to winter clothing from the motorhome to storage. There were also items to purge and some to find we recognized we needed. As you travel, you realize that you miss those things that you thought you could live without, so get them out of storage bins! With the holidays and Christmas coming up, we gathered up some favorite traditional items to help make the motorhome feel “merry & bright”.

We would like to thank our family (Terry, Jim, Pat, Bill and Nancy) for the early Thanksgiving Dinner and the day out at the winery for some great music and outdoor time. Friends  Rich, Lysandra, Autumn, Becca, and Eric for finding several  times to spend with us!     Heather, Brittney, Miguel and little Liam for our Sunday Brunch at the camper.  We do stay in touch with everyone while travelling via text or occasional phone call, but it’s awesome to physically see each other and catch up on some very needed hugs.

Before we knew it, we were waving good-bye yet again, heading south to Hilton Head, SC. We stayed at the Hilton Head RV resort right around the corner from our next visit with friends Kent & Patty!  While there we went to the Honey Horn Plantation which housed an exhibit of some very unusual artwork pieces.  We also hit the Bamboo Room to check out a local band that solely played Beatles tunes. I believe we may have closed the place.  LOL. Next few days took us on a bike ride to the beach, lunch at the Salty Dog and a night out at a fantastic Italian restaurant. But a trip with them does not lack its incidences. While the guys let the dogs out for a watering, they took off into the neighbor’s yard.  Calli running in tow.  Only thing was, Calli didn’t realize they had a pool and when she no longer felt ground, she found herself IN the pool. She has never been in a water situation like this and she tried hard to get to a place to get out.  Luckily Kent came to the rescue and grabbed her by the collar and neck and pulled her to safety.  It was such a scary moment for everyone. But we now know that Calli can swim.   Such a great time!

The four days we spent in Hilton Head was over in the blink of an eye, too fast. It was time to pack up and head south to Savannah.
