Where did the time go. So many places and great memories. We thought it would be a good time to look back and capture all the things that we did and didn’t enjoy about our journey so far. Not all will be a specific place or event, rather something we felt there. Since I always to err on the good side, I begin with the great things.

-Being mobile truly has it advantages. You never get bored of being in one place. Or if the place ends up not being what you expected you can move on.

-Seeing all the varied nature from state to state. From the greenest vast tree lines, rolling hills and mountains, to the flat green farmlands. Some may say that’s boring, I saw its breathtaking and peaceful. Natures daily amazement

-The waterfalls. No two are alike nor getting to them the same. Large billowing to small trickling, they all give you such a wonderful fresh feeling each and every time.

-American culture. Now, what do I mean by that. When you go to a foreign country you know that you will be emersed into that culture. Well, it really is no different going from state to state. We are “united” but we are also very different.  Each state possesses its own uniqueness. The personalities, food, traditions, beliefs, religions, regulations, rules and even speech. Yes, we all for the most part speak English but its HOW its spoken that is amazing. I wasn’t great at foreign languages but I can make a little bit out occasionally. However, there were times within these great United States finding myself asking “what was that you said,” more than a few times. I know right now you all are thinking about an example from life or a movie that you experienced that.  Then you actually figure out what they did say and you feel preeettttty silly sometimes.

-Lake Michigan is the largest fresh water lake that I have ever seen. If you dropped my off by blindfold onto Great Bear Dunes at Lake Michigan and you asked me where I was, I would have responded “I’m on the shore of one of the oceans or seas.”  It is that vast that in most places (like the Dunes) you cannot see anything but the never-ending deep blue to the horizon. It was grand for sure.

-Simplicity of life.  Wow…. that’s a mouthful. You know how you get up every day and think about what you are doing and what you need to prepare for, what to wear, etc. When you live on the road you literally could probably wear the same 2 outfits day after day and no one would notice. Even though we may not move from our particular campsite, the others around us can change daily.  And those staying, unless you actually engage with them they aren’t going to remember what you had on. (unless of course it’s something like a neon pink zebra onesie and high heels). We haven’t tried this, but maybe we will and post about it. (not the zebra thing..the same outfit thing). LOL.
