During the early summer months this area used to be the vacation mecca for many families. Apparently, over the years this seems to have changed. Although there are still a lot of activities to do for families, the main attraction now is more the lake there. The downtown strip is vey much a version of North Myrtle beach with its mini golf, T-shirt shops on every corner and Show places.  We did go to 2 shows while there.  One was an illusionist and the other a Rock Music tribute show. Both were good and we did enjoy them, however they were not like NY or Vegas. While there, the temperatures were extremely hot which didn’t allow us to do too many things outdoors. Especially with Calli in tow.  Since the campground had a nice pool, I found myself visiting it often.
