Traveling city to city, state to state and everything in-between; we both are always looking for attractions, parks, farmers markets, hikes, etc. in the area we land in. On this given day, I had just jumped on the computer to tap out a trip story or two and took a
detour to check email first.  I came upon a Trip Advisor email, opened it and saw that a community playhouse had a show the next evening available. Lin had just closed her eyes for a short nap which we both take advantage of, so I took it upon myself to surprise Lin with the play tickets to see “Little Miss Firecracker” at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN.   I was so proud of myself to take the initiative and purchase the tickets. A little while after Lin awoke as I was marking it proudly on our calendar . I told her that we were going to a play at a local playhouse ! She was excited and she asked me where this playhouse was. I told her it was in right in Crossville, TN. Her face went a bit blank. Then she said we just had one problem.  We had left Crossville days ago. We were now over 5 hours from that location. Damn. In my mind I was still in Crossville and  got misled by an older email naming attractions for our visit.  We did continue to joke about this for the next few days. Needless to say the tickets were non refundable.  I received a bruised ego from the mistake, but on the bright side we donated to the  local arts in Crossville, TN.  Lin now has also altered our erasable calendar to also clearly include the town names.  LOL
