For anyone that has been to Gettysburg PA, there is so much history, sacrifice, and sadness there. When you visit those famous fields where so many died, you swear you can still hear the muskets and the cries. They say that with so many men dying in that one area that so many still wander there trying to find their way home.  When you travel down town and visit the local “haunts,” Like Sweeneys Tavern, you are surrounded by displays of the remains of the era. Uniforms, guns, hats, letters that never got sent, and the list goes on. They continue to preserve this very piece of history. Life goes on, and things change, but we need to remember that these people, the time, and what they went through has made us into America. We must always preserve history so we can learn to make our future great…again and always.  You cannot undo the past, but you can make the future a bit better.

Great post Linny, and how true your comments are. We just passed through Gettysburg, and would like to visit there again one day to get the true experience of it all. Thanks

We had been there briefly a few years back but it was just one day. And it rained horribly. So this time we got to do a bit more. We hope to visit many historical places along our routes and appreciate our history. Thanks for following. More posts are up and more on the way.
